<div dir="auto" style="text-align: start">The leading edge has to be squeezed together to fit between the nose ribs and the projecting tangs on the main ribs. It doesn't require much force, but the length of the components make it a bit tricky if working on your own. I was going to ask someone to lend a pair of hands, but I found that long thin cable ties solved the problem. Just make sure the heads of the ties are not on the inside, as you need to get them out once it's put together...</div>

<p><span>I've now finished the elevator / horizontal stabiliser, ready for covering. The next items to assemble are the wings. I reckon it took me about three to four days to make the elevator. A couple of people who've seen what I'm doing have commented that it's rather like a big meccano kit... It is, so it goes together quite quickly. If you look through the pictures you'll see a couple of tips for using cable ties to make the job easier. The wings are more complex to build </span><span></span><span>than the control surfaces which I've worked on so far, and I'm about to go off for a little sailing trip, so there won't be much more to report for a few weeks.</span></p>
